Hi sissy, I had a compaq computer and windows me also not long ago. As far
as your scan disk and defrag problem, try hitting control alt delete and
shutting down everything that you can. In my previous experiences with
windows me that was the only way I could get the scan disk and defrag to
work. As far as your computer locking up, Windows me is notorious for just
that very same thing. That perticular operating system is terrible at
allocating your memory resources. My suggestion is to upgrade to 2000 or
