Sony is no longer manufacturing their own optical drives.  Quality
varies from OK to poor depending on who manufactured the unit you buy.
The best of their units is a LiteOn.  While LiteOn manufactured
excellent CD burners, their DVD burners have been far less than great.
You will be far better off with a Pioneer, BenQ, or NEC.  All three of
those manufacturers are producing excellent 16X DL drives.
