I've just installed a new mobo and after installing a clean Win98se os, everything works fine but the usb ports. Back panel ports as well as the mobo on board extra front panel socket on the mobo. I configured the bios to enable the ports and, they show up in device manager as working properly but when I plug any usb device into the ports (after installing the software first) the devices are not found. I then installed a PCI (2 port)card on one of the pci slots and they work fine. Any answers? The following specs are:
Gigabyte GA60XM7E mobo, Intel celeron 667mhz, 128mb pc100 ram, Intel 815E chipset on mobo, S3 savage 2000 video card, etc. etc. Am I missing something here? TIA, Edwin Bogert
