Camille,

The only solution that I know is to buy an IDE Controller card that you plug into the mother board.  This should give you enough IDE connectors so, you can use the zip Drive and the CD-RW at the same time and chances are you  may even have some left for you to connect other devices.

You can buy them as low as $25 if you shop around.
