Dial Up Network problem

I have little knowledge about PC's. Thought someone here could address this
problem. My Dial up Network (under Connections) resets   itself to  NEVER
dial ISP  instead of the setting I had clicked (ALWAYS dial default-------.
I can change it  - connect and it changes itself back to Never??   Is there
a reason for this.
