Packard Bell POS PB8515SV monitor, Cirrus Logic 5430 video
chipset w/2MB RAM.

This Monitor is 5 years old. I would like advice on how to
keep it running longer. People are surprised it never caught
fire. This monitor came with a PB P60 desktop, with Win. 3.11.
When I had to return the desktop to Packard Bell, they
replaced it with a P75 with Win95. So I had no choice and
could not pick an 8515SV option.

I currently run the monitor at 640x480 24 bit color, with a
refresh rate of 60 Hz. If I try to run the monitor at a high
resolution, I get the pincushion screen. The monitor is 15"
and the screen has a 1/4" black border around it. I can
eliminate the border by pushing the Zoom button.

What are the signs that this monitor will need to be replaced?
What can I do to keep it running longer? The only adjustments
I make, currently, are the brightness and contrast knobs. I
find that in the email mode that makes a difference.

Any advice is gladly received.
