1. I'm trying to add DDR SDRAM to Dell 4550. It currently has 1 stick
marked 266 HZ DDR DIMM that is 128 MB in BANK 0. I want to add a 256 MB
that is marked DDR 32X64D2100 stick in the next slot BANK. As I understand,
the 266 HZ and 2100 are equivalent. The manual says it will run with 384
MB, but when put the stick in the computer won't get past POST. Is this a
bad Module or is something else going on?

2. I'm setting up an old (circa late 1996) Gateway P5-200 that my
institution excessed. It currently has 1 stick of 32 MB in BANK0. The
Gateway support site says the maximum memory for this machine is 64 MB.
What will happen if I replace the 32 MB stick with a larger capacity - say
128 MB?

Thanks,

Bob Warasila
