Hi Dan,--2nd time around.
Realized I didn't know much about cache and memory relationships and
checked out some Web stuff at:
http://www.pcguide.com/ref/mbsys/cache/char.htm
Which seems to have a pretty thorough discussion on the matter. There is
much info about a 512K L2 cache, as standard for caching 64MB but a little
further on it says:

The performance of the cache obviously also is greatly dependent on the
speed that the cache subsystem is running at. In a typical Pentium machine
this is the speed of the memory bus, 66 MHz. ******However a Pentium Pro
processor has an integrated level 2 cache, which runs at full processor
speed, normally 180 or 200 MHz. Obviously, this will yield superior
performance! ******--- and a little further on:----

Pentium Pro PCs use an integrated level 2 cache that contains the tag RAM
within it, so none of this is really a concern for these machines. The
Pentium Pro will cache up to 4 GB of main memory, basically anything you can
throw at it. .....etc....

So, if this is what I've got, and I believe I have, caching should not
cause any limitation, and I guess I really don't know for sure whether or
not any of my programs are using the full 128 as needed. As previously
described, my Graphics programs were greatly slowing down and getting
increasing memory access violations, which prompted me to try to confirm
full usage of 128 mb ram. Have since defrag'd my 11.5 gig HD C: drive and
eliminated all .tmp files I felt where passe, and performance has shown some
improvement.
Thanks again for your comments
