Simply solution; return the LG CDRW and buy another unit with software.
Why go through all this trouble when you should be able to return the unit
and buy another?

Regards,
Fred Hahnel

Subject: [PCBUILD] LG CDRW won't burn DAO

I bought an LG CDRW CED 8080B without any software for my AMD k6-III 400mHz
system (DFI baby AT board, 3Com ethernet card, soundblaster 16 card, ZIP
serial drive, lexmark color inkjet, UMAX scanner w/SCSI card, Stealth 64
video car), and I tried unsuccessfully to burn CD's (Disc At Once) with
first NERO, then CDRWIN, with no results - the system (Win98SE) would hang,
and I would get a SCSI/IDE error. I uninstalled them both, got Adaptec
EasyCD Deluxe 4.02e, and it wouldn't work either-not even an error message,
just a system hang. I called LG, they said it was software, I called
Adaptec, they were mystified (we even went through the registry to clean it
up, turned off everything in the background, etc.). I just bought a new 20
gig HD and more memory (now 196megs) in order to solve any possible buffer
problems, the drive is
defragged and error-free, and none of this has solved anything. Does anyone
know what I can do next? Thanks.
