You can purchase an ABC parallel port switch box for your camera. I have 3 devices
on mine including a printer.  It is available in either automatic or manual model;
I use the manual kind which is cheaper, about $20-30. All you have to do is turn
the dial to which device you want to use without disconnecting anything.
Regards,
Debbie

there some device I could get so I don't have to disconnect my printer to dowload
pictures from the camera? The computer is a Compaq Presario 7360.
