Guys and Gals,

Before any of you go to the work of researching and solving this
question, let me say that I have already solved it. Or rather,
Google solved it. Seems this is a more common problem that I
thought. I had to go into regedit and delete the upperfilters value
and the lowerfilters value. Doing this brought back the DVD to "my
computer" and a simple uninstall and reinstall brought back the
CD/RW. Next time I will do the research before asking.

Good Evening Dick,

Could you please elaborate a bit on the information you found using Google
that aided you in resolving the problem? I can't speak for other list
members, but as for myself I'm unfamiliar with the 'upper- and lowerfilters
values' to which you refer. Perhaps you could post a link or two that leads
to an explanation of the whys and wherefores of the issue which could aid us
all if we ever run into similar problems.

TIA. I am.

Very truly yours,
Jeffrey Ottie
