if the harddisk didn't go bad, you should be able to re-format is using the
SCSI card. dose the SCSI card freeze if you disconnect the harddisk? If so,
you may have a bad disk. Once I had to re-format (low level) a SCSI drive
because power failur (UPS can only hold 10min), but it didn't show any
damage at all. So my guess to your question is "No".
(SCSI harddisk unlike IDE, the controller is on SCSI card.)
