The price difference is just a marketing difference. A K63 450 is 2-300
hundred now just because they don't make them any more.
I have a K62 550 running this server

Here are Wintune scores for a 500 and 550 ...the 500 on a FIC 503+ and the
550 on a EPOX EP-MVP3C2..which is the most stable superseven board I have
used to date.

K62  550  CPU Integer 1150 MIPS
K62  550 CPU Floating Point 660 MFLOPS

K62  500  CPU Integer 1071.965 MIPS
K62  500 CPU Floating Point 601 MFLOP

AMD will tell you there is a 15  percent difference ...this shows around 8
percent but the margin of error would cover that and Wintune isn't a very
reliable or definitive benchmark.
