I had a similar problem a while back. If yours is the same as mine. You
have to boot to floppy before the driver of the 3rd party formatter takes
over. It probably gives a screen to choose among different options before
booting to system. Choose the one that does not use the driver. It was so
much hassle that I reformatted the HD with FDISK and it was fine ever
since. Sorry I forgot the detail. Post the message/choices on screen maybe
someone else can help you more.
