I had a HP ScanJet 5p going thru a SCSI card and it was greatly it crashed. HP
could not fix it and I upgraded to a HP 6200 which works on a usb port and is
as fast as my old scanner on the SCSI. But differently get one that goes thru
parallel port as it slow and tedious to set up.
