Dear Richard,
By now maybe your problem has been solved but i found thie following resource( though it sounds a bit nefarious) on simtel.net. It is called "Password Spyer 2k 2.0"
It can be found on that site under general utilities page 11 or I presume at the publisher's website which is www.maros-tools.com/products/spyer .
 Good luck
 David Lang

Subject: [PCBUILD] lost password

Hello, I have lost my password. I have windows XP as the OS.Searching your website,I have found some possible anwsers to my problem but have not been successful.
I thought removing the battery would flush bios,I then cleared the passwords
for both user and administrator.Re booted and still could not get past the XP
password prompt.I also tried safe mode but still could not get past welcome screen
I have also seen password recovery discs for sale, but a friend
who works for Geek squad used his and we could not get the machine to take the disc.
This was a Windows 2000-based computer that crashed, and my brother in law installed Windows XP Professional onto it.
So here is what I intend to do.
1.Send in the machine and pay $55USD to recover my password.
2.Buy Windows XP legally and ensure that silly mistakes such as this will not occur again.
What sayest thou?
