  You won't be able to run anything over DOS 6.22 Edit and
some old games on 286 with 640k of main memory... Windows
won't go on less than 2 megs, and 4 is a must if you want
to _work_ on it;
  if you want to get a PC for kids, dump the 286 for good
[or paint it silver and place in a backyard - makes nice
monument :) ] and get them a "later" 486 [80 MHZ and up]
or entry-level pentium [90-166], they are really cheap now.
