Hi Diane,

What protocol is your modem capable of?  If it's V.90 then make sure that
the number you're calling is also capable of V.90.  If not,  is your modem
X2 or Kflex?  The number you're calling must be compatible with your
modem.  If all of that is the way it should be then your line conditions
may be bad and it won't be possible to get a 56k (53.3) no matter what you do.
