  Quite far-fetched idea, but could this be possible
that the TV card has an option of muting the line-out
and you enabled this?
  I would suggest you to link TV card's Line-out to
your stereo's line-in and check for the sound. If there
is one - look for the ploblem in your SB.
  This method is also usable for a variety of problems
like "I can't hear anything from this card hooked
to my SB".
