In order to make a playable audio cd, you need to first convert the mp3's to wave files using a converter program. There are many free ones on CNET at www.download.com. Download one of the programs, convert the files, then copy the wave files to the cd. Cd players will not play the mp3 format, such was the big craze about mp3 players.
Just as a note, I personally like CDRWin for cd burning.
