You need the correct video driver for the video card in your computer. You
can most likely get this from a disk you received with the computer or from
hp.com. This isn't a problem with the monitor.

I just had to do a quick restore on a Compaq Presario, Windows 98 SE,
512 RAM, 25 gig hd. Some kids had installed some games that corrupted
the system.

When the computer finished setting up, the colors of the monitor
settings changed. I need 256 colors and my only options in the
Properties of Display are 2 bit and 16 bit. The resolution is 640x480.
It will not let me change that.

I do NOT have a disk for the monitor. Is there any way to change these
settings to 256?

Please answer as soon as possible.

TIA
