Gosh, it seems like there are a lot of Win98ers out there, many of whom
haven't followed the threads of PCBUILD or PCSOFT for a couple months. It
my well be that if the Win98 Registry has become corrupt. If the Win98
registry backup files have also become corrupt, you may need to reinstall
the OS - if you haven't saved a backup copy of your *valid* registry
files. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure, ie, to preclude
having to reinstall Win98 - I used to do that a lot of times - it's
better to have a method to save an uncorrupted version of your Registry
files (email me direct).

However, if you've gone past that option, first try installing Win98
*over the top* of your current OS, without reformatting. If that doesn't
work, you may still have to reformat and reinstall the OS - along with
all your other programs. Don't forget to save all your .ini & .sys,
files, along with all your data files (if you haven't been keeping/saving
them to a separate HDD partition).
