Well...I had some problems having TWO discs with Windows installed on
them....its very unstable, because it sometimes it try to use the other
windows's ini, exe and dll files...

I recommend to:

(you must have the Windows 98 CD and a CD-ROM!)

With the new disk uninstalled:

    1) backup your most valuable info.(not apps..just data!...mails, address
book, favorites, My Docs, *.doc, *xls, *.ppt...and so on..)
    2) verify your backup.....it's ok? great! go on....
2.5) Make a STARTUP DISK if you didnt!...Settings -> control
Panel->add/remove progs -> startup disk -> create DISK.
    3) reboot....go to PROMPT ONLY mode (pressing CTRL when it boots)
    4) copy the deltree.exe command from \windows\command to \
    5) deltree windows
    6) deltree progra~1

    7) power off, open case, switch current disk as slave, install new disk
as master.
    8) reboot....enter BIOS..configure SETUP ...boot from floppy first!
    9) insert startup disk...
    10) use fdisk to partition NEW disk, boot, format c: /s, boot, insert
Win98 CD
    11) run SETUP from CD...install windows...boot, boot,
boot....pray..pray..pray...
    12) All done!

if you dont understand any of this instructions, get help from any tech
support!..

Subject: [PCBUILD] Hard d rive question resent with my full name

I have a 850 mhz amd thunderbird computer, I am running win98 se. I adding a
second hard drive 7200 rpm and a ata100
card. I want to set it up so the second hard drive will become the master
and the one my computer boots from, I called maxtor and they told me how to
do this. Once I go into bios and change the boot sequence. I will reformat
that drive(doesnt have much on it anyway and put a fresh copy of win98 on
it. Here is my question I have alot of stuff on the original c drive and not
in the mood to spend the whole night burning cds. Is there a way to after I
do a full install on the new c drive, not touching the old c drive .To just
go into windows explorer pull everything I need off of old c put it on new
c? Would having to full versions of windows on both drives screw something
up ? I am not starting til I hear your replies.

          Thanks
