I have swapped the sticks and each will show 256 in the bias and boot
fine, both are "Kingston" chips and purchased from IBM. I have put them
both back and when I reboot, get 2 beeps and then the 229 memory
error........there is nothing to change and save, so have changed the
virus to disable and save this setting....same thing....right after the
memory check for 80 megs of ram, the error occurs. I am not sure that
there really is 512 on board, as there is not any improvement over
256....which was a BIG improvement over none on board.

I have an Aptiva M70 with 80 megs of ram, 133 processor......I have
been seaching the web for beep codes and memory error messages but
haven't found them.

Thanks Don
