He is still going to have problems, but there's a good chance that if
you fix the MBR, he will still be able to boot into one of the other
OSs, since the booting sequences for the NT series and the Win9x
series use different file names, so the others might not have
overwritten much in WinME.  In fact MS says that you can install
Win9x and WinNT on the same partition, but they don't
recommend it because of higher-level widgets with the same name
which they will both try to install into <z>:\Program Files .
I don't know what these things are called in WinME, but copy the
MBR and the most basic booting files from a working copy of
WinME to the damaged system.  What was called sys C: in
Win9x.
