The only way this will work is if the drives have a jumper to put the LED
directly on or you were using the on board controller and a add in tertiary
controller with a LED connector. The best and most direct approach is to
plug the LED onto the drive.

I have a couple of old Seagate ULTRA 33 drives that have this jumper
however a new Seagate Ultra 66 Barracuda does not have the jumper.
