  It is *possible to do what you want by editing BOOT.INI, but it's not
easy.

  For a while, I was running one of my machines dual boot between 2000 and
98SE.  I had a very tense few minutes the day 2000 decided a crucial
partition was "unformatted space" -- luckily, 98SE could still see that
volume.  I've noted a few other people having scary experiences with this
combination as well, so while you *can* run these two OSes on the same
machine, I can't recommend it.
