Yes, you can run a scsi HD on a pc but you need a scsi
adapter card - I had used an Adaptec 2940 card with a
Seagate Barracuda 9GB scsi drive for a few years.  You
should be able to pick a card up cheap today used.  It will
be tricky to setup and if you run an IDE drive with it, it's
even trickier.  SCSI is nice if you need multiple hard
drives; you can add quite a few to one scsi cable if your
power supply can handle it.  If you need multiple drives, I
would try to avoid mixing the scsi with IDE drives.  I don't
think there is much of a price or performance difference
between scsi and ide today.
