Hi Edna,
   I picked this off Acer's web site:

[enter bios, etc, etc...]
...
5. Press ESC and select the System Security section.
6. Make sure that the Diskette Drive in the Disk Drive Control section is
set to NORMAL.
...
[exit and save settings...]
    It looks like that security setting is masquerading as the
boot-sequence.  However, this info was for a system with a DS # of
AB638.001 - your mileage may vary.
Check out this page, select your DS # and do a search for "boot":
