I read this post with interest because I was (and still am) stymied by the
same message ("...insufficient message...") when I tried to format from a
floppy.
All the responses to the post focus on the hard drive. But shouldn't we
suspect the ram? In my case, the full message (after the warning I'll lose
all information on the drive) reads:
                          "Checking existing disk format
                          Recording current bad clusters
                           82 percent completed
                          Insufficient memory"
With 128mb ram, I shouldn't have problems counting bad clusters.
I'm running AMD 350, 8.4gb Fujitsu HD, and WIN98. What do you guys think?
