Bob,

You can install the free version of ZoneAlarm on all computers except the
gateway computer. It never locked up any of my computers but if installed
on the gateway computer would not allow access to the internet to any of the
networked computers. I used it with Sygate with out any problems. You can
upgrade to Zone Alarm Pro which does allow installing on the gateway
computer. If installed only on the gateway computer it will block all
incoming traffic that you want to block and stealths the computer but it
will not block unwanted outgoing packets from networked computers unless it
is installed on each computer. I upgraded to ZoneAlarm Pro on the gateway
computer and am using it with Sygate. I use a combination of ZoneAlarm and
ZoneAlarm Pro on the networked computers without any problems, running Win98
and NT 4.0.
