That or for keyboard-less applications. i.e. Touch screens, display models,
demo, etc.

Probably just that it isn't uncommon to have something laying on the
keyboard
(we all just pile stuff on top eh?) at bootup, which would otherwise halt
the
POST step because it was holding down a key.
