I must disagree, at least in part, with Qian and Mary.  I have worked on two
HP Pavilions.  Each of them utilized an ASUS motherboard.  If your Pavilion
also has an ASUS motherboard, you could very likely purchase a good case and
power supply of the appropriate spec (probably ATX, as almost everything is
now of that form factor), and transfer your m'board, & etc. to it.
