I recently got a linksys etherfast wireless
ap / dsl router. I've tested it as an ethernet
hub, dhcp server, and nat gateway. It seems
to do everything advertised. (I did have one
problem running netbeui through it.)

Do people have recommendations for laptop
and desktop wireless cards to use with the
linksys ap?

I've only tested it with one wireless client ---
my wife has a cicso aironet wireless pc card
in her w2k thinkpad. It seems to work fine.

We have a couple of other laptops running
primarily w2k and nt4, although we might
have w95 or w98 somewhere. We also have
an abit ka7-based desktop running w2k.
I'd like to network these through the linksys
ap? I'm tempted to look at linksys cards
(linksys seems to have a good rep, and
the ap has worked so far) and cicso cards
(because the one we have works)?

What would people recommend? I care about
money, and I care about low hassle factor, but
there is certainly nothing mission-critical here
that requires extra performance or reliability.
However, I do think I will want to run it using wep,
which I haven't tried testing yet.

Thanks.
