I always tried to explain it like a desk:
        The space on the top of the desk is the ram (Bigger the desktop = more
RAM.)
        The space left over after all of the equipment is placed on the desk
(computer, pencil
        holder, calculator...) is the amount of ram free to load programs/data.
        The desk drawers are the disk space (The more drawers/ filing cabnets =
bigger disks.)
        As you work on something you take it out of the drawer (disk) put on the
the desktop
        (ram).
