I have seen this sort of behavior on a Sony monitor when the horizontal
driver transistor was failing. However, mine would also change color to a
blue tinge at the same time. Although I am an electronics engineer with
experience as a technician, I never fixed my Sony because I could not figure
out how to remove the circuit board without destroying it!
