Hi,
        Are you performing a fast POST?  I have heard of problems like this where
the POST would complete before the HD was fully spun.  It would cause the
BIOS (and therefore Win95) to assume the HD is missing and ignore it.  By
 the time you restart the HD has spun to speed and the BIOS sees it.
 Disabling fast POST many times fixes the problem.
