Just another cents worth.

Instead of "another" floppy drive, connect another HDD (which you know for sure is working and good )to the IDE on the mobo and also one of the floppy drive to the floppy connector on the mobo and power up and see.

If your mobo is suspect, as some members have suggested (or if it is the CPU or something else ) then I think it will become more clear IF YOU GET THE SAME ERROR MSG.
