Out of curiosity. When you say "Right from the beginning of the install"
what are you saying. Is this after you have formatted. You then run
Setup.exe and the errors occur, or after the system checks necessary disk
space and starts coping install components to the hard drive and then the
error occurs. Or after this when the system has rebooted for the first time.
Or after the second or third reboot?

Secondly. Are you partioning the hard drive into multiple partitions? Or are
you using one huge partition?

Thirdly are you able to try using a different brand Sound and/or Graphics
card? Different brand of RAM? (Hardware incompatiblity is a thought).

PS have you tried upgrading to Linux <VBG>

<snip>

Right from the beginning of the install of Win98SE, there's been crash after
crash. For instance, this message came up not long after the first few
minutes of the install:
'Application Error - SUWIN caused a General Protection fault in module
Setup.dll @ 0019:46D0'.

Suggestions would be most welcome.
