While I don't consider myself an expert on meteorological
conditions or the rate of oxidation of various alloys, I
have heard that humidity tends to be quite high in
Louisiana, particularly near New Orleans. I would recommend
that you try to get a hold of some desiccant silicagel
'pouches' (if possible) of the sort that used to be found in
packing materials for radio and stereo components, and place
several of them in a fairly well-sealed carton with the
computer. Then, when you remove the computer from storage,
open it up and check for corrosion; perhaps even re-seat all
cards.
