Shawn:
In a way, Jun is correct.  But you shouldn't have to re-create the volume.  If
you have free space on the drive that has the SYS: volume, at the server
console type in
     LOAD INSTALL

(That will activate the install nlm from the default directory)  A menu will
appear called Installation Options.  The third line is the Volume Options.
You will select that one to configure the volume.  You should be able to
increase the size if you have free space available.

Another option to increase the SYS: volume, or any volume, is to span the
volume over several HD's.
