I have never used IR for a printer, but I use one for my laptop to connect to
the inter net with my cell phone, I use it to synch my palmtop, and I send
information to other phones, laptops, and palmtops all of the time (using
Windows XP, 2000, and ME). I think that it works great! For the most part, it
the ports are facing the same general direction and within 8 feet or so, you
should have no problems. I wish that they made a good digital camera that
used the technology.
