Bob:

I finally dared and took a gamble on these things myself. I'm getting bare
bones that only need the CPU, RAM, and hard drive. Everything else is included
in the box, keyboard, mouse, the last ones even had speakers. Everything is
onboard, modem and NIC as well. The last one I used had a slot 1 and 370
socket, can handle Celerons and PII & PIII in both socket flavors. They're from
Alton and/or PC Chips. I know, not the best but the price is very right.

What are they good for? For workstations, not a "real workstation" if you will,
but a workstation in the sense that the user will be doing spreadsheets or word
processing all day long in an office, that kind of thing. Some games can be
played but I would not sell one of these to someone who wants to play games.

I have almost a dozen of these out there now, so far only one had a problem and
it was the CD drive, they exchanged it for me and that was that. Some are
connected to networks, some stand alone. They are being used for office apps,
day trading, real estate programs, on one of them the guy actually plays Flight
Simulator 98 rather nicely.

Go for it, just have a back up plan. They're cheap enough that you can buy a
replacement one if one needed to be returned for repairs.

HTH,

Jose
