        Hi.
        On a Linux I tried time ago on an HX based Biostar mobo with AMI
bios, I observed that with power savings on bios X wouldn't start (monitor
remained black). But that didn't happen with the previous (different) mobo.
The workaround was have the turbo switch plugged into the mobo power savings
switch, and pressing it while in (blank) X, X Window appeared. No problem
at all with power disabled in bios. This has not anything to do with your
problem, but shows that the bios or Linux or X implementation was buggy
with respect to power savings.
        BTW, I have an Asus TX97 mobo, and observe that pressing the turbo
switch connected as above, the system stops completely (hourly clock stops).
Strange implementation.

        Let me tell you I find it very interesting.

        Take into account that your configuration will have been tested by
very, very few people in the world, and perhaps you are debugging it.
Personally, I would think that it is a casual death, and try to substitute
the IC, or risk another monitor. Can you measure the IC temperature, or put
the finger on it? (Try above trick to force power savings).

Starting point:        (-1)^(-1) = -1
Applying logarithms: (-1)*ln(-1) = ln(-1)
Since ln(-1) <> 0, dividing:  -1 = 1
     (ln(-1) is complex, but exists)
