I have the same problem with VIA chipset socket seven
motherboards. Edit c:\autoexec.bat and put REM in front
of the statement that runs the boot virus check on the c: drive.
That should stop the pc from freezing. I have not yet
researched the fix, but I'm guessing it is something
posted on VIA's website.

Any known problem with AMD K6-2 and F-PROT ?
In three configurations : HOT 591P, AMD K6-2/350, the pcs freez when F-prot
or Mc cafee is on.
TIA
