Well, nothing you can do except to try the newest driver from SiS website.
If you are already trying the new driver, make sure that you do it right.
SiS driver set can be only installed by running the setup.exe, you can't do
it in device manager. running the setup will take you to some options,
remember, never ever click "Typical", it will destroy your good work (by
trying to install old DX file and other out-of-date stuff), always do a
"Customs" installation, never install any DirectX, or anyother media related
part, install the VGA driver only!!! Good luck.

Since your mobo has been shorted, there is possibility that it has been
damaged.
