  I seem to recall that you had to install not just the AppleTalk
protocol but also "NT Services for Macintosh" on each NT server to be
accessible from Macintoshes.  Ugh.

  There is a relatively inexpensive software package called "Dave"
that runs on Macintoshes, which I believe allows them to participate
in a typical NT NetBIOS-over-TCP/IP network.  As long as Macs are a
tiny minority, this is probably a better approach.
