Do you have a firewall setup? If you do, the firewall settings could be your
culprit. Allot of times, when the IP address changes, your firewall may look
at this as a breach and block access. The two cable ISPs in my area change
your IP address from 6 to 8 times a day. I don't know much about DSL, but I
would guess that it is the same way. I would look at the DNS and IP settings
in your firewall settings. Usually, either the modem will work or not work so
I also doubt that your problem is hardware related.
