It is not so much of  front or back ports has
ports itself.  On Win98/Me drives require
drivers and  drivers are port sesitive - my
digicam software don't recognize other
USB ports what it was originally installed.
Olympus 3030Z  (USB 1.1) There could
be similar problems with USB drives
under Win 98/Me
