I just bought a new OEM Colorado Backup for a "good?" price at auction and installed it. (System Win98SE, TriGem 166MHz, 48Meg RAM). It makes the right noises on start up, and the light blinks just like the one in the other machine, but I cannot read or write to it. When I try to use the Win98 Backup to identify, format, initialize or backup, I get a message that it is unable to read the tape because it is either unformatted or unable to identify the format. When I try to format the tape it give me an unable to format the tape. The tapes that I have are recognized by another T3000 drive in another similar machine. Does anyone have any debug ideas? I carefully took the circuit board off the top and seated the ribbon cable to the heads, but no change. No documentation came with the machine, and the HP website talks more about trouble with the Colorado software. THX
